São Paulo – After six weeks, production resumed this Monday (22) at Ford’s factories in Camaçari (BA) and Taubaté (SP). The resumption of activities, after the announcement of the closure, on January 11, is the result of agreements signed in the respective Regional Labor Courts (TRTs of the 5th Region, in Bahia, and of the 15th, in Campinas).
While production is resuming little by little, the metalworkers try to keep negotiations with the company. A meeting is foreseen, until Thursday (25), with the global direction of Ford.
In the case of Taubaté, the Metalworkers Union of the region (Sindmetau) speaks of triple judicial armor. The entity recalls that, according to the agreement, the company must ensure salaries and benefits to all employees, whether or not called to work, until the conclusion of the negotiations. An injunction, at first instance, had already provided for this guarantee. In addition, there is an agreement, signed a year ago and valid until December 31, which provides job stability.
Negotiation continues
For the return, today, Ford de Taubaté has summoned around 130 employees, out of a total of 830 from the engine and transmission factory, to produce spare parts. Up to 330 should be called during the week. Anyone who is not called remains on paid leave.
In Camaçari, negotiations should continue for 90 days, counting from the last Thursday (18). Direct workers and so-called systemic companies (outsourced) return to produce parts. The allowance for unjustified absences of employees called since January 28 will be subject to negotiation. The Public Ministry of Labor had already formed a national working group to monitor the process.
