Laerte Coutinho is discharged and will continue treatment of covid-19 at home



São Paulo – The cartoonist Laerte Coutinho left this Sunday (31) the Instituto do Coração, in São Paulo. Laerte, diagnosed with covid-19, has been hospitalized since the last 21st. She went to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and will now be treated at home. “With the progressive improvement of her clinical condition, the cartoonist Laerte Coutinho (69) was discharged from InCor (Heart Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP), at 10am on Sunday morning (1/31), to continue the treatment in home care ”, informs the hospital’s note.

The biggest scare has passed, she recovers well, now it is day to day to improve and return to good old fashion ”, wrote the comic artist Rafael Coutinho, son of Laerte. One of the main cartoonists in the country, Laerte, 69, disclosed on the 22nd that she had tested positive for covid-19. He stayed in the ICU from Monday to Thursday last week. After an improvement in his clinical condition, he started to undergo treatment in the bedroom, using an “oxygen catheter and respiratory physiotherapy”. “I am grateful for the fumes and concerns! You, masks, washed hands and the possible isolation ”, she wrote on Twitter.

Argentina extends border closure with Brazil




Opera Mundi – Argentina decided on Sunday (28) to extend the deadline for closing air and land borders with Brazil until March 12, extending the previous decree that determined that they should reopen as of this Monday (1st) ).

Argentine health authorities considered it necessary to maintain the blockade at the borders and a 50% reduction in flights between the two countries.

The country is also closed to foreigners from other neighboring countries and the United Kingdom. Only Argentineans or residents can enter.

According to the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, the measure is taken “in a preventive manner until knowledge about the new Brazilian variant of the virus deepens”.

Vaccination in Argentina

While seeing its neighbor in the worst scenario of the pandemic, Argentina is advancing in vaccination against covid-19. There are already more than 903 thousand doses applied.

This week, the Argentine laboratory Richmond announced a partnership with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to start producing the Sputnik V vaccine nationwide.

On the night of last Friday (26), Argentina received 96 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine against covid-19. According to the Minister of Health, these doses have already started to be distributed on Saturday.
