São Paulo – The virtual vote on the proposed agreement negotiated with the National Federation of Banks (Fenaban) ends at 11:59 pm on Monday (31), with indication of approval by the National Bank Command. According to the category leaders, a study prepared by Dieese shows an impact of more than R $ 8 billion on the economy.

The total amount (R $ 8,098,464,934.10) includes wage and voucher adjustments and the payment of profit sharing (PLR), recalls the National Confederation of Financial Workers (Contraf-CUT). PLR alone represents a sum of R $ 6.2 billion. The readjustment, including allowance, adds up to R $ 757 million and meal vouchers (R $ 37.71 in 2020) and food vouchers (R $ 653.60), plus R $ 223 million.

The workers managed to change the proposal of the banks that insisted on withdrawing rights, such as the 13th food stamp. The zero readjustment, as Fenaban wanted, would result in a reduction of up to 48% in the value of the PLR and a loss of 2.65% in salaries.

Readjustment in 2020 and 2021

According to the proposal for an agreement concluded at dawn on Sunday (30th), after 14 rounds, this year there will be a 1.5% increase and an allowance of R $ 2 thousand. Benefits such as vouchers and childcare allowances are corrected by INPC-IBGE, whose variation in 12 months is estimated at 2.74%. For 2021, readjustment by INPC and real increase of 0.5% for salaries, vouchers and aid.

“When the worker wins, the whole society wins. With these values, bankers will consume, commerce will sell, they will renovate their houses, they will pay their debts. The economy wins and the government wins, which collects more when the economy turns, ”said the president of Contraf-CUT, Juvandia Moreira, coordinator of the National Command.

Debate on home office

Also coordinator of the Command, the president of the Banking Union of São Paulo, Osasco and Region, Ivone Silva, recalled that the agreement includes a specific discussion on the so-called telework, which in the pandemic period involved two thirds of the sector’s 453 thousand workers in the country.

“From the debate on teleworking, we were able to build consensus among banks, and the category should continue to home office during the pandemic, ”said Ivone. Specific agreements will be discussed in some institutions.

São Paulo – Union centrals will return to the streets next Tuesday (3), for an act in São Paulo, in front of the headquarters of the Central Bank, on Avenida Paulista. On the centrals’ agenda is the maintenance of emergency aid in the amount of R $ 600 and the exemption from payroll so that companies can react to the effects of the pandemic and keep jobs. The demonstration is scheduled for 11am.

The issue of R $ 600 emergency aid has been the subject of a campaign by the exchanges since September, when the government issued Provisional Measure (MP) 1,000. The benefit was extended until December, but the Planalto cut the amount in half, to R $ 300. The opposition in the Chamber and the centrals want the MP to enter the agenda, which has been obstructed for a month. This week, the President of the House, Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ), said he could include the topic on the agenda.

The maintenance of tax relief for 17 sectors of the economy was vetoed by Jair Bolsonaro. At first, it ends in December. But Congress is mobilizing to overturn the veto. The president of the Senate and Congress, Davi Alcolumbre (DEM-AP), scheduled for next Wednesday (4) a joint session to analyze presidential vetoes and bills.
